Decorating EVERY city would be quite massive, especially spanning three continents now. I assume something will be done for Christmas but probably not Thanksgiving.

I agree it would be cool for both of your scenarios but rather hard and rather extensive. I think a major city Christmas will suffice.

Thanksgiving isn't a global style holiday so they never do anything for that. Wintersday will be fun though. =)

Thanksgiving - Limited Countries celebrate it (Only America really? Why would other countries care about our first settlers and the natives here?)

Christmas - Isnt called Christmas, because "Christmas" is a Christain holiday, and thats supporting one religion over another. They do an event for "Wintersday" though. It falls near New years though and not christmas day. (Many non-religious types obviously celebrate christmas, but its mostly refered to as the "Winter Holidays" so it doesn't offend some random person)

I'm not religous, but still celebrate the holiday. It's a great day for capitalism!

People who get offended over stuff like "Christmas" need to pull the stick out of their rear and get their priorities straight.

Anyhow, I too am looking forward to their Christmas festivites. I hope there's some cool items to get in some events.

I think thats a little bit of an offhand comment really... not everyone agrees or likes Christmas, and I don't see why they should get "their priorities straight" just because its socially acceptable to you. To simply assume people who do not celebrate Christmas are offended buy the idea is simply to generalized a statement, which I think, if you were to really delve a little deeper, you would find the reverse is true anyway.

TBH I can see no resons why any country other than the USA should celebrate Thanksgiving. Assuming so would indicate a certain lack of knowledge as to what Thanksgiving actually signifies. Quite hilarious really lol.

Having said that, I like turkey.

People don't celebrate Halloween in a lot of countries either, but the American popular culture is spreading and in the future Halloween will be celebrated in more and more countries.

However, thanksgiving, no. Only Americans celebrate it, because it only affects people who live in Northern America. There is no real reason to celebrate Halloween, but there is a reason why people celebrate Thanksgiving.

True there is no reason to celebrate Halloween based on a global holiday, but I think that what Anet try to do is to celebrate the holidays the majority of faiths / countries celebrate. Thanksgiving is predominantly US or US citizens in other countries.

And on the Halloween thing, I think you'll find that its a British celebration, not American. I could give the history, which is quite interesting, but I wont. Americans didnt even invent the "trick or treat" bit. Sorry lol.

Quoted for Emphasis. This bullshit they've been pulling by just doing "Holiday" instead of Christmas is lame.. Calling "Christmas Trees" "Holday Trees" and things of that nature. So effing what if some people get offended, go back to your own damn country and live there and practice your religion there. Staythe hell out fo the USA and realize that this country was founded on CHRISTIANITY. Deal wiht it. People need to stop acting like they're being abused, when they are inded the visitors. When in Rome..... as they say, get with the program. I am sick of these assholes coming into our country and trying to change it to their way... I'm not racist, at all, but I'm nto Christian either.. I just believe in leaving thngs as they should be, not changin it b/c people have a stick up their ass.

a bit harsh I know, but it's the truth, people need to learn to adapt to their surroundings. Same wthing with learning English. It's an English speaking country... learn the language if you want to be a part of it. meh

I'm getting very sick of all these religious debates that are showing up more and more on game forums. Basically a rough idea on how this is gonna go is the Christians will say the country was founded on Christianity and to deal with it, the agnostics are gonna say that it is politically incorrect to say Merry Christmas because not everybody is Christian, and from there the agnostics will probably start attacking Christian ideas and whatnot. I just wish that we could just respect each other's stances on religion and just get back to the game.

Going back to the event, I really hope they do the snowball fights and the Dwayna/Grenth dialogue. I wish I had seen that last year. Also, did they decorate LA for Wintersday last year?

Ok... the response to what I posted isn't what I intended... anyway, what I meant was that, with the multitude of problems in this world, you'd think people could find better things to moan about. (Hence the "get their priorities straight".)
